Innervisions Hypnotherapy Clinic - Tapping inner potential for immediate and lasting change

Hypnosis Faq

What is hypnosis
Hypnosis is an actual and normal state of mind, which we experience constantly in our daily lives.  Such as when we are daydreaming or becoming engrossed in a subject to the exclusion of other things around us.

Who can be hypnotized
Most people can be hypnotized if they have the willing to be under hypnosis.  Due to fear of going down into hypnosis there are some who will resist to suggestion.

What happens during hypnosis
During hypnosis you will feel very relaxed and calm.  Whatever happens during the hypnosis trance is discussed between you and the therapist before commencing the session.

Will there be mind control during hypnosis
No, there will not be mind control, as you only accept what you want to accept and will reject things which bear no relation to the situation you are receiving therapy for. You are in control at all times and can get up and leave anytime.

What if I get stuck in hypnosis
You cannot get stuck in hypnosis as you are awake at all times.  Being in hypnosis is a very natural state.  If you were to go very deep you would just fall asleep and wake as you would after a very normal peaceful sleep. Even during a session if you feel the need to come out of the hypnosis state, you can and you will.

Can hypnosis be dangerous
So far there has been nothing documented indicating hypnosis is dangerous.  As a matter of fact hypnosis is very safe, you can get out of it at anytime you wish.

Will I remember what happens during hypnosis
Absolutely, you will remember everything and will immediately start applying positive suggestions made during your hypnotherapy session.

Can Hypnosis help me with my problem
If you go to our services page, you will see all the different situations hypnosis can help with.  As indicated at the bottom of the hypnotherapy services page, there are many more scenarios where hypnotherapy can help, just don't hesitate to ask to see if you can be helped by a qualified hypnotherapist.

Okay, I am now ready, what do I need to know and do
First of all you would need a medical note from your Doctor, to ensure we can work together.  Once this process is completed you will need to call us and set-up your first appointment, in this appointment therapy options will be discussed as well as what you can expect from each session and we will answers any questions you may have at this time.  The hypnotherapist will create sessions which will be specifically tailored to your needs and wants. Please refer to our contact page to set-up an appointment

What are the fees
The fees are $150 per hour.  Since we follow the 5-path process which is working through each phase, there are all together eight sessions. You could pay $150 per hour, which would end up costing you $1200 or you could purchase a package of eight sessions at your initial appointment and the cost for this is $850. If you need more work then the eight sessions we originally designate to the work at hand, we can continue on working, then the cost comes back to hourly fees or you could purchase four sessions for $400. A session is generally 45-70 minutes long. For smoking cessation sessions the fees run a bit higher and this is usually done double back to back sessions. We do require a commitment deposit of $200 at your first appointment, with the balanace being paid out on your second apppointment.

Does a hypnotherapist have to be Doctor or have a Ph.D to provide hypnotherapy
No, a hypnotherapist doesn't have to be a Doctor or have a Ph.D.  If a hypnotherapist goes to a well known reputable school and is taught well, then know the service will be of great benefit to you as the client. There is no such thing as being a Doctor of Hypnotherapy and to have a Ph.D one would need to go to school for at least 7-9 years. If you are to make the decision to receive hypnotherapy make sure to do your research and see that all credentials are verified. Sometimes people falsely use the title Ph.D or Doctor to establish themselves and get clients, but because of this therapeutic hypnosis takes a hit and people become wary of it. To use this title without schooling is really unfair to the people who have gone to school for 7-9 years and makes very light of the schooling they have done.  Also a Ph.D would be used in psychology and C.Ht is used in hypnotherapy.

Do you record sessions with your clients
We do record sessions if it is requested by an individual. Recorded sessions can provide insight for yourself and the hypnotherapist.  If your session is recorded then it becomes a permanent copy which is added to your client file, if you would like a copy than a small fee will be charged.
